ENVIRONMENT

Farming in harmony with the environment is very important to us.  Over the years we have made improvements to the farm to encourage flora and fauna.  These include extensive hedge planting, the creation of buffer zones along all waterways and the management of farm ponds.

We pride ourselves in adopting more environmentally sustainable practices as recognised by our LEAF Marque and red tractor certification.

The business has also invested in renewable energy to reduce its impact on the environment.  A biomass heating system is used to heat staff accommodation, the farm house and office while 280 kw of solar panels have been installed to reduce electricity consumption.  Three wind turbines also provide electricity to assist with running the potato coldstores at Ethiebeaton Farm
